Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, effective, and respected physician leader who demonstrates strong communication skills, as well as a commitment to quality improvement and patient-centered forensic mental health care. The successful candidate will be capable of building effective partnerships across clinical, operational, academic, and community environments.
The successful applicant must hold an MD or its equivalency, have or be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and shall have or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
In addition, the successful applicant shall:
• Have evidence of administrative, leadership, quality improvement, and/or medical management experience.
• Demonstrate the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Have knowledge of forensic mental health services and the unique needs of justice-involved populations.
• Hold or be eligible for an academic appointment with the applicable Faculty of Medicine
• Obtain and maintain a Recovery Alberta Medical Staff Appointment.

Reporting Relationship:
The practitioner will report to the Program Medical Director, Forensic Psychiatry, North.
Term:
Start September 2026

Additional Information:
This position is 0.2 FTE.
Remuneration is in accordance with CMO Policy for contracted medical leadership positions.
