Recovery Alberta, Edmonton Zone invites applications for the role of Medical Lead, Addiction Recovery Centre (ARC)


 
This 0.05 FTE position governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports to the Zone Clinical Section Chief (ZCSC), Addiction Medicine and to the Zone Clinical Department Head (ZCDH), Addiction and Mental Health. 


This position will oversee the clinical aspects of detoxification treatment, ensuring the highest standards of patient care. This role involves direct supervision of the clinical team, ensuring adherence to protocols and providing support in complex cases. Moreover, the detox clinical lead physician must ensure adherence with healthcare regulations and standards, maintaining a high level of care quality and safety throughout the detox process.  

 
The position has an expected start date of approximately June 1, 2025, and an expected term of 3 years. Experience working at ARC is a requirement for this leadership position.

 

Qualifications:

 

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of addiction medicine to effectively manage the complexities of detoxification treatment. They will have experience working at ARC detox and will be an inclusive and visionary leader with significant experience in medical leadership and be considered a strong clinician by peers. 
 
Candidates must be registered or eligible for registration with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent, eligible to work in Canada, and be eligible for or have current licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff.  Candidates should have evidence of formal administrative education and training.
