You must have an MD degree and Canadian specialist certification in Medical Oncology, or the equivalent. You must be eligible for licensure as a specialist by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and for appointment to the medical staff of AHS. Special training and/or a record of academic success in areas such as epidemiology, clinical trials, investigational new drug development, translational research and/or health services research would be desirable.

Preference will be given to Canadian citizens or those with permanent resident status.

The Calgary Health Zone comprises four teaching hospitals situated in the City of Calgary, and serves residents of Southern Alberta, and portions of British Columbia and Saskatchewan. The Department of Oncology is part of the Cumming School of Medicine and to help accommodate growth both in clinical service delivery and comprehensive cancer care (research and education). The new Cancer Centre, situated adjacent to Foothills Hospital, is anticipated to open in 2023. The successful applicant will have an opportunity to help shape our transition to this exciting new initiative.
