The Division of Neurology is seeking a fee-for-service neurologist with subspecialty training in Cognitive Neurology. The successful candidate will be RCPSC certified and will dedicate approximately 50% of clinical time to Cognitive Neurology clinics and 50% to General Neurology and urgent neurology/stroke clinics. The neurologist will provide ambulatory care primarily through specialized Cognitive clinics, with additional
responsibilities in General Neurology and Stroke Prevention clinics.
In addition to ambulatory responsibilities, the candidate will provide inpatient care, consultation services, and participate in on-call rotations
covering stroke and general neurology across Calgary’s four adult hospitals. This includes at least 8 weeks per year of inpatient and consultation service, each with an attached weekend, and approximately an additional 2 nights per month on-call coverage for two hospitals.
The successful candidate will be expected to actively participate in divisional activities, including teaching medical students and residents,
attending departmental grand rounds, and engaging in Division of Neurology meetings and related academic activities.
This position has been created in response to increasing demand for cognitive and ambulatory general neurology care in Calgary.
Qualifications include an MD, a specialist certificate in Neurology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta. We require a neurologist who has demonstrated a record of success in an academic environment, proven clinical excellence, a record of working well within a team, demonstrated organizational, leadership, collaboration and teaching skills are required.
The ability to participate fully in the Calgary City-Wide call schedule is required. Must read, write and speak English. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, however, Canadians and Permanent Residents will be given priority.
