SECTION CHIEF/DIVISION HEAD RADIATION ONCOLOGY, DEPARTMENT OF ONCOLOGY, CANCER CARE ALBERTA
Cancer Care Alberta, Department of Oncology, in Calgary in conjunction with the Cummings School of Medicine, University of Calgary invite applications for the Section Chief/Division Head of Radiation Oncology at the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre (Arthur Child).
This position provides leadership for the Section of Radiation Oncology at the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre and the Division of Radiation Oncology within the Department of Oncology, Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary. Responsibilities include providing strong leadership and facilitating strategic growth within the Division/Section for its faculty members supporting research, education and fostering excellent clinical patient care.
The Section Chief/Division Head of Radiation Oncology role is a full-time academic and clinical leadership position that reports to the Department Head of Oncology and the Arthur Child site Facility Medical Director. The successful candidate will work with the other clinical section and academic division leaders to enhance multidisciplinary clinical care and support translational and clinical research within the Department of Oncology and also identify and address radiation oncology resource needs supporting retention/recruitment while continuing to build their own academic career. The successful applicant will become a member of a multidisciplinary provincial program in Radiation Oncology located at the Arthur Child site and be an integral part of the operational activities in Oncology.
The successful candidate will also provide clinical inpatient and outpatient care within the Radiation Oncology section and provide leadership, support and coaching to the Radiation Oncologists through the collaborative development of objectives for each physician and by leading by example as an academic Radiation Oncologist. They will also build on the growing research and educational capacity in the Division of Radiation Oncology.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated exceptional abilities in communication, conflict resolution and a passion for change management. They will be an exceptional, experienced and visionary leader with credentials in both medical leadership and clinical practice and be considered a strong clinician by peers.
Qualifications include an MD, certification in Radiation Oncology, a demonstrated record of academic success, proven administrative skill sets and leadership experience in a complex academic and clinical environment. All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons in the Province of Alberta prior to applying.
