The Department of Anesthesiology Perioperative and Pain Medicine, Alberta Health Services Calgary Zone, invites applications for the position of Zone Champion Anesthesia Care Team. The starting date for this position will be March 1, 2025. The introduction of the Anesthesia Care Team model represents a paradigm shift that fundamentally changes the delivery of anesthetic care. In order for the ACT to be implemented safely, it needs to be closely monitored and regulated. As support within the anesthesiology community for this initiative, having a trusted anesthesiologist responsible for the ACT is critical. The responsibilities include troubleshooting professional concerns, determining the appropriateness of case selection, ensuring the RT-As/Anesthesia Assistants are practicing at full scope, and liaising with the operations and medical directors of the Contracted Surgical Facilities to ensure ongoing feedback and quality improvement. The ACT Zone Champion will work with operations, PIN leads and other zone champions to implement quality assurance and improvement projects for the Anesthesia Care Teams. |
