Mental Health, Recovery Alberta invites applications for the AMHSP Participating Psychiatrist. The successful candidate will be providing

Clinical support in Eating Disorder Program and Consultation Liaison.

The Calgary Eating Disorder Program (CEDP) is a large multi-disciplinary program providing eating disorder treatment for patients of all ages with moderate to severe illness across three sites.  As one of the largest eating disorder programs in North America, it provides a broad range of services across a continuum of care ranging from consultation, outpatient, day treatment and inpatient settings.  The CEDP provides care to approximately 300 individuals with an average care course of 24 months.   Most patients are cared for as outpatients and participate in individual treatment and group programming.  

For Consultation Liaison (CL), Psychiatrist provides psychiatric assessments and follow up for medical inpatients referred to CL; psychiatric assessment and follow up for outpatients referred from FMC medical clinics; Ensuring the completion of documentation on time for expedited transfers; Coordinating care and transferring patients to the destination sites in consultation with the bed coordinator and the Most Responsible Physician (MRP) during the day.

Providing call coverage approximately once per month

Education: 

Supervise medical students/residents and support various educational activities within the medical school and residency program, Education and administrative activities together will comprise 20% of the successful candidate’s workload.

Research:

Conduct research in the area of Artificial Intelligent, medical education, wellness and complex mental illness that will comprise 10% of the successful candidate's workload. 

Preferably be a full member of the Mathison Centre for Mental Health Research and Education at the University of Calgary and a graduate Degree (MSc or PhD preferred).
