Qualifications required include a MD, certification in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine, eligibility for regular licensure in the Province of Alberta, and sub-specialty training in Geriatric Medicine. An advanced research degree such as a Master’s degree or equivalent research training and experience is also required. The successful candidate will be involved in health services researcher in the areas of geriatric medicine, frailty and HIV, and would participate in teaching at the University of Calgary in undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate clinical and academic programs. The position will have 60% protected time for research.  Duties will also include providing clinical care to patients as part of their membership within the Division/Section of Geriatric Medicine.

 

Applicants must present evidence of early success as a clinician researcher, as demonstrated through early academic productivity in terms of presentations, publications and grant funding. Evidence of successful teaching and/or graduate supervision would be an asset. Evidence of collaborations with other researchers and academic engagement in professional and other communities will be assessed.

 

The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
