Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be eligible for independent medical licensure in Alberta, including certification by the College of Family Physicians of Canada or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or an equivalent professional body. The ACMO is expected to obtain and maintain a Medical Staff appointment.
At least four years’ leadership experience in health care is desired, ideally in a multi-clinic or geographically diverse and dispersed context. Experience in rural healthcare delivery is required.
Experience leading, supporting and assisting in development of medical leaders and experience
leading quality & healthcare improvement programs or initiatives.
Additional Required Qualifications:
The new ACMO will possess a successful record of achievement in strategic planning This individual will have a demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Other skills include being an effective communicator with strong organizational skills, client-focused orientation, and commitment to providing long term quality services. They can foster partnerships and achieve organizational goals within a large and complex organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in leadership and development including the design, development, and evaluation of policies, as well as tools and strategies to support this work.
Achieving the Canadian Certified Physician Executive (CCPE) credential is an asset.
