Youth Community Support Program ((YCSP) (0.4 FTE)
The YCSP program fills a gap in the continuum of services for a specific group of complex youth with mental health and/or addiction diagnoses, who are continuously accessing tertiary services with no stable resolution. YCSP serves a sub-population of adolescents who have complex psychiatric disorder(s) and are not well-served in acute inpatient settings and have greater needs than can be served in community clinics. Psychiatry involvement is a key program component for the youth and families. The following is typical work for the psychiatrists of the program:
-complete an assessment within the first 4 weeks of a youth’s admission to the program
-medication review and management: this usually involves weekly meetings with the Treatment Bed youth and/or families, bi-weekly meetings with the community youth
-attend Treatment Review meetings with the youth, family, and the rest of the team. These meetings occur approximately every 6 weeks
-work closely with the AHS nurses to ensure the Med Orders are complete and accurate for the MAR
participate at weekly Rounds (Thursdays 9-11am)
