Alberta Health Services (AHS), Edmonton Corridor invites applications for the role of Corridor Clinical Section Lead (CCSL), Trauma.
This 0.20 FTE position governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports to the Corridor Clinical Department Lead (CCDL), Surgery. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that standards of care are being met in the department and that support for research and teaching is available.
The CCSL, Trauma plays a vital role in supporting the ongoing development and management of trauma programs at the Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) and University of Alberta Hospital (UAH) and contributes to the broader success of trauma services across the Edmonton Corridor. This position supports the Corridor Clinical Department Lead, Surgery, and provides strategic guidance on trauma services, quality improvement, clinical program development, and educational priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership and expert advice to support the refinement and management of trauma services at RAH and UAH.
- Collaborate with the Corridor Section Leads of Trauma, Corridor Section Leads of General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Thoracic Surgery and Vascular Surgery, the Corridor Clinical Department Leads, Associate and Edmonton Corridor Medical Leads, Executive Leads, Medical Directors, and operational leaders.
- Promote the appropriate use of resources while supporting patient care, clinical operations, and departmental priorities.
- Support quality improvement, performance management, research, teaching, and educational activities within the Department of Surgery.
- Contribute to the success of the Department of Surgery in both clinical and educational matters.
This role is essential to advancing trauma care excellence, supporting departmental and facility priorities, strengthening clinical and educational outcomes, and ensuring the continued success of trauma services at RAH and UAH.
The position an expected term of 3 years.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated abilities in communication, conflict resolution, and negotiation. They will be an inclusive and visionary leader with significant experience in medical leadership and is considered a strong clinician by peers.
Candidates must be registered or eligible for registration with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent, eligible to work in Canada, and be eligible for or have current licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff. Candidates should have evidence of formal administrative education and training.
