Alberta Health Services (AHS), Edmonton Corridor invites applications for the role of Medical Lead, Adult Nutrition.
This 0.20 FTE position governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports to the Zone Clinical Section Chief (ZCSC), Gastroenterology. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that standards of care are being met in the department and that support for research and teaching is available.
The Medical Lead for Nutrition Services is a gastroenterologist with advanced training in Clinical Nutrition who provides administrative, clinical, educational, and research leadership across the Edmonton Corridor. The role supports coordinated care, strategic planning, and policy development for Nutrition Services and Home Nutrition Support Programs, working closely with corridor and provincial leadership, program managers, dietitians, and interdisciplinary teams.
The role oversees specialized nutrition care for complex patients, including those requiring parenteral and enteral nutrition, intestinal failure management, and follow‑up through the Malnutrition Clinic. Responsibilities include consults across sites, participation in interdisciplinary PN rounds, collaboration with the Northern Alberta Home Nutrition Support Programs, and contributions to medical education and nutrition‑focused research.
The position has an expected term of 3 years.

Candidates must be registered or eligible for registration with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent, eligible to work in Canada, and be eligible for or have current licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff. Candidates should have evidence of formal administrative education and training.
