Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) is seeking a full time Anatomical Pathologist with fellowship training or equivalent in Surgical Pathology or Breast Pathology. Experience in Gastrointestinal Pathology or Cytopathology will be considered assets. The successful candidate will join a team of laboratory physicians and scientists at the Peter Lougheed Centre, Calgary Alberta. Participation in a multi-site anatomic pathology on-call rotation is expected. Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) as a wholly owned subsidiary of Alberta Health Services (AHS), is a multi-site, sole provider of comprehensive laboratory services in the province of Alberta. Job Summary & Responsibilities
Anatomical Pathologists must maintain the highest possible standards of practice including prompt delivery of services to match established key performance indicators and provincial metrics, must actively participate in quality assurance and quality improvement programs, and must actively participate in undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate medical teaching.
The Anatomical Pathologist / General Pathologist will report directly to the Peter Lougheed Centre (PLC) Site Chief in Calgary who in turn reports to the Sector Medical Director, South Sector (APL) and the provincial Chief Medical Laboratory Officer.

Qualifications:
Qualifications include an MD, eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta, and certification in Anatomic Pathology or General Pathology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology as well as subspecialty Fellowship training and/or Certification in Surgical Pathology.
