Alberta Health Services are seeking a General Practitioner with recent and relevant training and experience in Family Medicine for a fulltime Family Medicine practice in the Town of Three Hills. A successful candidate will additionally be required to cover shifts and on-call in the local rural emergency room as the sole physician available. The scope of practice includes inpatient, outpatient, acute care, long term care, community clinical work. 

Once chosen, the successful candidate may choose to operate their business by joining an existing practice or opening their own practice. This is the candidate's independent business decision and will not be managed through the recruitment process.

With a current population of 3,322 residents, Three Hills has the security and quality of life of a small town with numerous “big city” amenities. Prairie Bible Institute provides post-secondary training through Prairie Bible College, Prairie School of Mission Aviation and Prairie College of Applied Arts and Technology. Numerous other post-secondary schools are located within an hour's drive. Required Qualifications

  • A successful candidate will hold valid and relevant license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta
  • Recent experience (12 months of Family Medicine practice following postgraduate training in the last 24 months) in independent Family Medicine practice where the physician has been the most responsible physician for a wide range of Family Medicine patients. A successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience with both inpatients and private clinical practice.
  • A successful candidate will have to have the experience, training and competency to be the sole physician in a rural Emergency Room
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
