Infectious Disease Clinician with Special Expertise in HIV

Candidates must have evidence of strong clinical training and performance in the investigation and management of all infectious diseases and their clinical mimics.  Primary clinical responsibilities will at various times include; providing inpatient general infectious disease consultancy services, (including weekend & night call), practicing within a busy but highly effective outpatient antimicrobial treatment program and other outpatient ID clinics. Hospital related activities may occur at any of the adult care sites.  These activities will entail working effectively with allied health colleagues and supervising and educating medical trainees as well as fully participating in collaborative clinical research.  The ability to work collaboratively with other infectious disease/medical microbiology colleagues is essential and the successful applicant will be expected to be a regular contributor to ID section rounds and presentations.  Remuneration for this position will be through a Fee-For -Service mechanisms for general infectious disease care.   The position can be adjusted based on the needs of the successful recruit to achieve a 0.6 Full Time Equivalent status.  All documentation will be conducted within the Provincial EMR (ConnectCare). The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
