Candidates must have evidence of strong clinical training and performance in the investigation and management of infectious diseases and their clinical mimics. The successful candidate will also be an individual who has specific expertise in TB inpatient and outpatient care. Specifically, the individual will be experienced with TB clinical presentations and diagnostics as well as current and emerging anti-mycobacterial therapies.

The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.

Compensation: Remuneration for this position will be through a Fee-For -Service mechanisms for general infectious disease care. Similarly, a Fee-For -Service mechanisms for remuneration exists within the Tuberculosis clinic. The position can be adjusted based on the needs of the successful recruit to achieve a 0.7-1.0 Full time equivalent status. Alberta Health Services operates five teaching hospitals in the city of Calgary, including the new South Health Campus acute care facility. Clinicians are expected to be competent and engaged teachers for a range of medical trainees (i.e. medical students, off-service residents, internal medicine residents and infectious disease/respiratory sub-speciality residents), inspiring the next generation of physicians. AHS serves 1.8 million residents of Southern Alberta, Southeastern British Columbia and Southwestern Saskatchewan. The Department of Medicine provides academic and clinical services in an integrated manner across all of the hospital sites and in several ambulatory care settings. Outpatient TB care is centralized at the (Southern Alberta) Tuberculosis Program at the Sunridge Professional Building near the Peter Lougheed Centre. TB-related inpatient consults and on-call activity occur across all five sites.
