The successful candidate will have established reputation not only for excellence in clinical care but also scholarly pursuits. Service to support the educational mission (developing and delivering undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate education sessions), quality improvement and assurance, and administration of the department is expected. The successful applicant will be expected to dedicate approximately 20% of their ICU related time towards one or more of these areas. The candidate is expected to have a Major Clinical appointment with the Cumming School of Medicine within the University of Calgary and be a member of the University of Calgary Medical Group. The successful candidate will be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada with an MD, FRCPC, possess a specialist certificate or equivalent in Critical Care Medicine, and be eligible for full licensure with College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. In accordance with Canadian immigration requirements, priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
