Qualifications:
Experience inserting and removing contraceptive implants and both copper and progestin-containing IUDs is required. Experience with pregnancy options counseling (parenting, adoption and abortion) is required. Physicians must have applied (or be willing to apply) to be a designated HIV Pre-exposure Prophylaxis prescriber (see https://www.albertahealthservices.ca/frm-21245.pdf for application form) and have the required training. Experience in sexual health, and/or working with youth and/or LGBTQ+ and/or vulnerable populations is preferred.
An appointment with the Department of Family Medicine is required prior to commencing. Physicians will be expected to supervise residents and/or medical students once they are oriented to clinic processes and are required to apply for an academic teaching appointment.
The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
