Description:

The Calgary AHS Sexual and Reproductive Health clinics are recruiting physicians for casual shift coverage with an FTE range of 0.1-1.0.

There are vacancies for the Saturday clinic, one 5.25-hour shift per month with the ability to pick up other shifts as required to provide vacation coverage.

Sexual and Reproductive Health clinics provide service primarily to youth and young adults (age 29 and under) as well as those with barriers to care such as: requiring translation services; no Alberta Health Care; unable to afford contraception; requiring access to HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis.

Sexual and Reproductive Health clinical services include: contraception counselling, prescribing and dispensing; STI testing and treatment; IUD insertions; pregnancy testing and options counselling (parenting, adoption and abortion); non-forensic sexual assault care; post-abortion care; HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis.  Clinics are located at Sheldon M. Chumir Health Centre, South Calgary Health Centre, The Summit: Marian & Jim Sinneave Centre for Youth Resilience and Sunridge Professional Building.

Further information about our clinics can be found at:  http://insite.albertahealthservices.ca/assets/phc/tms-phc-postpartum-orientation-srh-clinics-services.pdf

Clinic shifts are Monday to Saturday, and duration is 4.25 hours to 5 hours.  Shifts begin between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m, and end between 4:15 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. , depending on the day, location and type of clinic.

Casual physicians should be willing to work at any site, and occasional Saturday coverage is required.  The number of shifts available is highly variable.  Remuneration is provided by a sessional ARP, and is calculated on an hourly basis.
