Recovery Alberta is inviting applications from psychiatrists with expertise in Adult Psychiatry. Our multi-disciplinary teams consisting of psychiatry, nursing, psychology, social work, occupational therapy, speech and language pathology, and education provide assistance for more than 1.6 million people in Edmonton Metropolitan Region.
We are looking for an adult psychiatrist who is licensed or eligible for licensure with the CPSA and either certified or eligible for certification in Psychiatry with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada who is open and interested in providing locum support at the University of Alberta Hospital.
The successful candidate will primarily provide ER and inpatient coverage with opportunities to support the outpatient department, on the CL service, depending on need. There is no fixed FTE attached to this position as it will be set up to provide vacation and absence coverage.
The locum psychiatrist will also be expected to participate in the on-call schedule- approximately 2-3 calls per month (1700-0800 M-F; 0800-0800 Saturday, Sunday, Stat Holidays).
The successful candidate will be required to participate in clinical teaching (both residents and students) and will be expected to apply for a Clinical Academic Colleague appointment in the Department of Psychiatry, University of Alberta through processes in place via the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry.
Remuneration is fee-for-service.
Qualifications:
Candidates must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Psychiatry. S/he must also be licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
