Qualifications:
The successful applicant must hold an MD or its equivalency and shall have or be eligible for certification with the Canadian College of Family Physicians or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and shall have or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
The successful applicant shall have or be eligible for certification in Addiction Medicine:
certification through the Canadian Society of Addiction Medicine;
- Certification through the American Society of Addiction Medicine;
- Certification through the International Society of Addiction Medicine;
- Certification in addiction medicine through the American Board of Preventive Medicine;
- Certification in addiction medicine through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology;
- Certification through the American Board of Addiction Medicine;
- a Certificate of Added Competency in Addiction Medicine through The College of Family Physicians of Canada;
- an Area of Focused Competence (Diploma) program in addiction medicine accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada;
Experience in provision of treatment of addiction and mental health.
The practitioner will obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment.
