Alberta Health Services (AHS), Edmonton Zone invites applications for the role of Medical Director, EMG Clinic, Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital (GRH)
 
This 0.10 FTE position reports to the Facility Medical Director of the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital.   
 
Roles and responsibilities include: 

  • Providing clinical direction and supervision of EMG Lab electro-diagnostic services. 
  • Assisting the Facility Medical Director GRH with hiring qualified electromyographers.
  • Assisting the Administrative Director Clinical Support with hiring qualified Lab assistants and other clinical support personnel.
  • Providing continuous effective direction and supervision of Lab personnel in coordination with the Administrative Director Clinical Support.
  • Ensuring that the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta’s EMG accreditation standards will be met.
  • Consulting with Alberta Health Services in the procurement of necessary EMG Lab equipment. 

 
The position has an expected start date of approximately January 1, 2025, and an expected term of 3 years. 

 

Qualifications:

 

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated abilities in communication, conflict resolution and a passion for quality and patient safety.   They will be an inclusive and visionary leader, ideally possessing experience in medical leadership and is considered a strong clinician by peers. The successful candidate will also possess superior interpersonal skills and have demonstrated supervisory experience.   


 
Candidates must be Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) certified, be eligible to work in Canada, and hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff.
