A Medical Director of an EMG Lab is responsible for leading clinical, operational, and administrative initiatives that maintain high standards of care
and diagnostic accuracy. By supervising staff, managing resources, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, the Medical Director ensures that
patients receive precise, timely evaluations in a safe and patient-centered setting. This position is a leadership role which is critical to the
coordination of patient care, collaboration and education to meet our departmental needs. This will ensure that there is protected and supported
time to advocate for important Department decisions, to innovate and incorporate change into our department, and to strive to become a center of
excellence within our province.

The Medical Director of an EMG Lab plays a crucial role in ensuring high-quality, efficient diagnostic services and minimizing physician workload by
overseeing test protocols, quality assurance, and streamlining lab operations. Their leadership ensures that EMG studies are accurately interpreted
and that protocols are followed, reducing variability in care. The Director’s oversight also improves staff competency through ongoing education
and performance evaluations, enhancing workflow efficiency and patient care. By managing administrative duties such as budgeting, billing, and
resource allocation, they reduce the administrative burden on physicians, allowing them to focus on clinical responsibilities and improving overall
productivity and job satisfaction.

Qualifications:

This posting is for Internal Candidates ONLY.

Qualifications include an MD, a specialist certificate in Neurology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta. We require a neurologist who has demonstrated a record of success in an academic environment, proven clinical excellence and a record of working well within a team. All qualified candidates are encourage to apply; however, Canadians and Permanent Residents will be given priority.
