Description:

In a competent and professional manner, the Contractor will:

· Provide medical support and advise to ensure high quality integrated wound care clinical services within Home Care.

· Provide Leadership for wound care medical staff.

· In partnership with other stakeholders will participate in the development and implementation of best practice standards within Home Care and across the Zone.

· Participate in professional relationship building with attending physicians.

· Participate in the review of policies, procedures and guidelines relating to clinical care.

· Manage the maintenance of medical services at the Foot and Wound Clinic.

· Provide input into ensuring the resources of the Foot and Wound Clinic are utilized in a cost-effective and efficient manner.

· Ensure the establishment of benchmarks and measurement mechanisms within the Foot and Wound Clinic.

· Ensure the coordination of quality improvement activities including all aspects of medical audit and those aspects of medical practice involving the interdisciplinary team.

· Provide educational opportunities for medical staff by ensuring high quality rounds are available.

· Maintain clinical skills.

· Maintain high standards of professional behaviour and respect for colleagues.

Teaching:

Actively support processes to ensure high-quality medical education is provided for undergraduate, post-graduate and continuing medical education students in accordance with the requirements of the University of Calgary, Faculty of Medicine.

Qualifications:

·         Proven leadership, communication, organizational, change management, team building and facilitation skills.

·         Expertise in developing and providing resources, consultation, and collaborative support to stakeholder teams.

·         Ability to design, tailor, implement and evaluate effective strategies to meet identified priorities.

·         Experience in supporting and promoting clinical best practice and experience as a change agent.

·         Strong verbal and written communication skills well developed interpersonal skills, ability to cultivate positive relationships and a passion for patient safety.

·         Alberta Health Services privileges to practice at AHS facilities.

·         Expertise or clinical experience in palliative care, geriatrics, home care and/or facility living would be valued in this role.

 

Applicants are limited to current AHS medical staff.  The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
