The successful candidate will have an MD degree, or equivalent. He or she will be eligible to be certification in Neurology with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada. As well, he or she will be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).
The successful candidate MUST have a movement disorders fellowship completed at a Canadian university. Ability to perform injections for dystonia, tremor and parkinsonian disorders is required. Neurophysiology skills in diagnosis of movement disorders are preferred.
The successful applicant will be expected to apply for a Clinical Academic Colleague Appointment in the Department of Medicine, University of Alberta, which will be considered under a separate process through the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry.
The College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta has recently announced that physicians from limited approved jurisdictions may be eligible for immediate licensure in Alberta on the General Registry.
