The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years of fellowship training in neuromuscular disorders, including electrophysiology as well as certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Neurology. In addition, they are expected to have demonstrated experience in clinical or basic science research. Particular emphasis is placed on the value of experience using big data, health informatics, and emerging technologies to inform patient care and the understanding of the natural history of neuromuscular diseases. Expertise in clinical epidemiology, clinical trials, and patient-oriented research will be a strong asset. In addition, the candidate will demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills, personal effectiveness, and the ability to lead. The Neuromuscular Program has a robust clinical trials program and leads a national registry for rare neuromuscular disorders. The vision for this program is to build on this active academic foundation to grow the academic mandate of the program through innovative approaches to studying neuromuscular diseases and providing excellent clinical care.
The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
