The Section of Newborn Critical Care, Department Pediatrics, invites applications for a Clinical Associate position. This position may be filled by more than one physician depending on the Section’s needs.
This role will work under the direction of a supervising physician within a multidisciplinary team setting to deliver acute patient care in the area of Neonatology at the Foothills Medical Centre and all other NICU sites. This role will work alongside other members of the department including physicians and nurses to provide clinical care to pediatric patients in the NICU.
This role will entail examining patients, writing orders under the direction of the Subspecialist, presenting patients on rounds, as well as attending deliveries to provide neonatal resuscitation as needed. This role may require both daytime and nighttime shifts, with a maximum shift duration of 24 hours.
The Department of Pediatrics has over 300 clinical and academic faculty members who are part of the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary.

Qualifications include certification in Pediatrics by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent, or certification in Neonatal Perinatal Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent. Candidates must be eligible for an independent practice license from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. Candidates must hold active certification in NRP.
The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
