The Department of Medicine at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary and Alberta Health Services – Calgary Zone invites applications for the Nocturnist Acute Medical service located at the Foothills Medical Centre and Peter Lougheed hospitals in Calgary. The successful candidates would work 12 hour shifts (8pm – 8am) looking after Internal Medicine in-patients and support the assessment and admission of patients referred from the emergency department. A 1.0 FTE position would be 137 shifts per year. Successful candidates will be members within the Division/Section of General Internal Medicine of the Department of Medicine and be offered clinical faculty appointments to the University of Calgary, if eligible. This role includes opportunities to interact with and provide clinical teaching to medical students and post-graduate clinical trainees in the course of clinical care provision

Qualifications:
MD, FRCPC (Internal Medicine) – with a minimum of 4 years of Internal Medicine residency training
Successful candidates should have evidence of strong clinical acumen, have effective organizational and time-management skills, practice evidence-based medicine, and work well within a collaborative interdisciplinary clinical environment. A successful track record in clinical teaching is an asset.
The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
