Description:
The hospitalist group at the Peter Lougheed is the largest admitting service at the site. We pride ourselves in providing excellent patient-centered care through the continuum of hospital care: seeing patients in the ER and following them onto our inpatient units and organizing post-acute care. We are responsible for ordering treatments, tests, and consulting with specialty physicians and primary care physicians where appropriate. Addiction, mental health and social issues frequently complicate the medical issues; advocacy at the patient and system level will be a key part of this role.
We are looking for clinicians who are highly receptive and seek regular feedback. We expect that clinicians who are hired be involved with various quality improvement initiatives and be actively involved with other non-clinical activities (i.e. Attending business meetings, noon hour educational sessions, and participating in fundraisers/socials etc.).
There are 2 positions available starting on May 1, 2023, with an FTE of 1.0. There is an accompanying probationary period with this position. It is a position exclusively for night shift coverage for admissions. The shift would be 10pm to 7am.
We’re passionate about what we do. Our team of skilled and dedicated health care professionals, support staff, and physicians promote wellness and provide health care every day, all across the Calgary Zone. We are an equal opportunity employer. AHS values the diversity of the people and communities we serve and is committed to attracting, engaging and developing a diverse and inclusive workforce.
