The successful candidate will be certified by the Royal College of Physicians with a MD, FRCPC or FRCSC, possess a specialist certificate or equivalent in Critical Care Medicine. The candidate must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).
We are particularly interested in those with superior interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to function well within interdisciplinary teams. The successful candidate will take part in the undergraduate and post-graduate surgery curricula at the University of Alberta. Therefore, the successful candidate will be expected to apply or posses a Clinical Academic appointment in the Department of Critical Care Medicine at the University of Alberta. This will be considered under a separate process through the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry.
The successful candidate will be a clinical academic colleague within the academic Department of Critical Care Medicine.
Remuneration for ICU work will be through a clinical alternate relationship plan (ARP) funding model. At the present time, four weeks of ICU service per year will be expected and will be renumerated through the ARP model. This will include 4-5 weeks of daytime coverage and 4-5 weeks of night time coverage.
