The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Pediatric Hospital Medicine, is seeking multiple short-term locums (December 1, 2024 – March 31, 2025) for adjunct evening admitting service.   

These positions will support clinical service gaps primarily related to admitting new patients and aiding in patient throughput for the PHM service during the hours of 17:00-23:00.  

The Section of Pediatric Hospital Medicine champions exceptional health care for hospitalized children and youth. Through analysis of our data, we increasingly recognize that we need more support in the evenings. We invite community pediatricians or pediatricians in other disciplines who feel they have the necessary skill set to fulfill this role, to apply.  Successful applicants will work in collaboration with the PHM team who are committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care for the unique needs of every patient and family on our service.  

 The Department of Pediatrics has over 300 clinical and academic faculty members who are part of the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary.

Qualifications include certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Pediatrics.  ​ 

​The candidate must be eligible for an independent practice permit with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.   

​Candidates must hold current certifications in both CPR and PALS. An established commitment to excellence in clinical care and an interest in medical education and teaching will be an asset.​
