Plastic Surgeons

Qualifications for these positions include certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in plastic surgery and a minimum of one year of subspecialty training in a discipline of plastic surgery. Fellowship training or proven proficiency in plastic surgical trauma, microsurgery, or breast reconstruction are preferred. The successful candidate must be eligible for independent licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.

The candidate will be joining an existing group of seven plastic surgeons and will be expected to participate in the call roster. The Foothills Medical Centre will provide access to the main operating room, minor surgical suite, and ambulatory clinics. Renumeration is through fee-for-service billing and an on-call stipend.

The successful candidate is expected to apply and obtain a clinical academic appointment with the Cumming School of Medicine , University of Calgary. They will be required to participate in teaching and evaluating residents, fellows and medical students. Clinical research within the section of plastic surgery and department of surgery will be encouraged and well supported. They will also be required to participate in leadership roles within the division of plastic surgery and department of surgery.
