PLC Oral Surgeon

Clinical Role:

The successful candidates will become members of the Section of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. With the current section members, they will provide health care services and accommodate increased service needs and volume of complex oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMFS) problems including temporomandibular joint pathology, mandibular trauma, and obstructive sleep apnea cases. They will share in operating room time at the Peter Lougheed Centre. The successful candidates will also have a requirement to cover the minor oral surgery clinic at Foothills Medical Centre Dental Clinic/Calgary Cancer Center up to four days each month. At the future Calgary Cancer Centre clinic site, they will help assist / develop oral rehabilitation services and screening programs. The surgeons will share in the OMFS call schedule according to the section and AHS policies.

Educational Role:
There will be an expectation for contribution to the education of GPR residents, off service residents, and OMF fellows working in the section of OMF surgery. The successful candidates will be expected to apply for a clinical academic appointment with the University of Calgary Cumming School of Medicine.

Administrative Role:
The successful candidates would assist in the provision of section and departmental administrative duties.

Remuneration:  Fee for Service
