Cancer Care Alberta, Alberta Health Services is accepting applications for a full-time Radiation Oncologist position to start as soon as possible at the Central Alberta Cancer Centre (CACC) in Red Deer, Alberta.

The Central Alberta Cancer Centre (CACC) in Red Deer is one of four Regional Cancer Centres within Cancer Care Alberta’s Community Oncology portfolio. Serving Central and Northern Alberta, the centre delivers a wide range of state-of-the-art treatment and care to cancer patients including outpatient chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and access to clinical trials, education and psychosocial support. Cancer care practice at the CACC is centered around 7 major tumour groups with rarer tumours managed in conjunction with consultation and expertise from the tertiary centers in Calgary and Edmonton. The CACC operates within a provincial framework for cancer care supported by provincial clinical guidelines and standards, focused on patient centered care. 

The successful applicant will be expected to participate in a multidisciplinary approach to cancer care at the CACC and will join a team of Medical and
Radiation Oncologists, Nurse Practitioners and medical support staff working in the Central Zone. Responsibilities will include participation in ambulatory clinics and attending duties on the inpatient consultations, direct and indirect patient care. Other responsibilities will include participation in local and
provincial tumour team-based activities including clinical case reviews at tumour board rounds, annual, provincial tumour team meetings and local quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives. 

This position is LMIA eligible.  AHS Sponsorship for CPSA Practice Readiness Assessment is being offered for this position.

Qualifications include an MD, completed fellowship in Radiation Oncology or equivalent, eligibility for licensure as specialist by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).
