Job Summary:

The Contractor, in the role of Site Medical Informatics Lead (SMIL), will collaborate closely with the South Zone's Medical Leadership team and work together with leadership and healthcare practitioners at assigned facilities/site(s) to ensure the seamless integration and optimization of Digital Health. The Contractor will serve as a visible and passionate advocate for advancing the effective use of clinical systems, fostering local adoption and enhancing decision-making processes within the healthcare ecosystem through direct engagement and communication with peers.
Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
In a competent and professional manner, the Contractor will:
Directly Engage Site Leadership: Collaborate with other leadership at the site(s) to identify Digital Health related successes and challenges, facilitating an open dialogue that drives continuous improvement.
Effective Communications: Contractor shall establish and maintain effective channels of communication with front-line healthcare staff, ensuring timely and transparent information exchange. This includes actively soliciting feedback, addressing concerns, and disseminating critical updates related to clinical information systems and related initiatives. The Contractor shall serve as a bridge between front-line staff and the Digital Health Program, fostering a culture of collaboration and responsiveness to enhance system usability and performance.
Identify Workflow and Tool Gaps: Take a proactive approach in pinpointing workflow gaps and areas for improvement within existing clinical information system tools. Identify best practices, training requirements, and enhancements necessary to enhance system efficiency.
Contribute Local/Specialized Knowledge: Leverage local and specialized knowledge to inform the design and improvement of clinical information systems, ensuring they align with the unique needs of the healthcare environment and provincial standards.
Visible Champion for Clinical Systems: Serve as a visible champion for clinical systems, inspiring confidence and trust among healthcare professionals. Promote the best interests of clinical systems across the organization.
Quality Improvement and Use of Clinical Data: Collaborate with Connect Care data and analytics, clinical leaders, and site providers to promote interpretation and communication of data that supports meaningful use of clinical systems and site clinical quality improvement.
Roles & Responsibilities:
In this capacity, the Contractor will be responsible for:
Engagement with Site Leadership:
- Collaborate with site leadership to identify and address Digital Health-related successes and challenges.
- Facilitate regular meetings or forums with site leadership to discuss ongoing digital health initiatives and opportunities for improvement.
- Advocate for the alignment of digital health strategies with site-specific goals and priorities.
Effective Communications:
- Establish and maintain robust communication channels with front-line healthcare staff.
- Proactively seek feedback from front-line staff regarding their experiences with clinical information systems and related tools.
- Address concerns and provide timely updates to ensure transparency and responsiveness.
- Create and disseminate clear and concise communication materials to keep staff informed about system changes and initiatives.
Workflow and Tool Gap Analysis:
- Proactively identify workflow gaps and inefficiencies within existing clinical tools and processes.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop solutions that enhance system efficiency.
- Champion best practices and recommend training programs to address identified gaps.
Utilize Local/Specialized Knowledge:
- Leverage site-specific and specialized knowledge to contribute to the design and improvement of clinical information systems.
- Ensure that system enhancements and configurations align with the unique needs of the local healthcare environment.
Champion for Clinical Systems:
- Act as a visible and influential advocate for clinical systems among healthcare professionals.
- Build trust and confidence in the benefits of clinical systems, encouraging their widespread adoption.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement in system usage and optimization.
Enhanced Local Decision-Making:
- Ensure that digital health initiatives support and enhance local healthcare processes and decision-making, while upholding provincial clinical information system standards.
- Collaborate with site leadership to make informed decisions that align with local healthcare objectives, while maintaining provincial clinical information system standards.
- Provide valuable insights and recommendations derived from clinical informatics expertise and clinical systems usage data.
Qualifications and Required Attributes:
- A seasoned physician with a deep understanding of large-scale transformational change.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of successful program management.
- Clear communication and presentation skills, coupled with a pragmatic problem-solving approach.
- Experience in clinical operations and a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
- Ability to foster collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and medical communities.
- Proficiency in aligning business practices with organizational objectives and strategies.
- A visionary who can contribute to the innovation, integration, and consistency of patient-centered clinical care.
Reporting Relationship:
The practitioner will report to the Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO).
FTE: 0.2 there are 5 positions available as follows:

Reuneration:
Remuneration is in accordance with CMO Policy 01-01.
