Stephenson Scientific Director - Calgary Zone

The Scientific Director of the Stephenson Cardiac Imaging Centre guides the research mission of this world class cardiac magnetic resonance imaging group utilizing facilities based at both the Foothills Medical Centre and South Health Campus. The Director is expected to provide mentorship/ supervision in research to both basic science graduate students and clinical post graduate trainees. The successful candidate is to assist other faculty in Cardiac Sciences and Diagnostic Imaging with research projects and to maintain external funding for their research program through the major granting agencies and philanthropic fundraising activities. The role operates together with the two clinical co-directors of the Stephenson centre to provide leadership and administrative support to the centre regarding clinical and educational operations. The successful candidate will be expected to proportionally contribute to the clinical workload of their section, depending on primary affiliation to Cardiac Sciences or Diagnostic Imaging, firstly through provision of clinical supervision and interpretation of cardiac MRI studies and further through general cardiology or diagnostic imaging clinical services as negotiated with their Department Head.
