Qualifications:
Qualifications include a MD degree, certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada, eligibility for licensure through the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and for privileges with Alberta Health Services. A PhD in a relevant field is required. Research interests must align with the priorities of the University of Calgary and the Cumming School of Medicine’s strategic plan (https://cumming.ucalgary.ca/about/cumming-school-medicine/stratplan2023), as well as at least one of the Department of Family Medicine’s research pillars: Indigenous Health, Health Services, Health Equity, and Medical Education. Applicants should demonstrate a record of impactful peer-reviewed publications. Future success in receiving external funding from Tri-Council sources or equivalent peer-reviewed national or international organizations should be a realistic goal. Teaching experience in an academic setting is an asset. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate engagement with professional and other communities.
